My philosophy is that we are unique.
With this in mind, I offer counselling and psychotherapy tailor-made to you as an individual. I take the best and most helpful interventions and philosophies from a variety of approaches, known as integrative counselling, and I can support you in finding helpful ways to work through the challenges you may be facing in life.
As a counsellor, I do not give advice; I provide a nurturing and safe space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings in greater depth. I work in a very relational way which means I share my feelings or thoughts with you when appropriate and without judgment. The counselling process is a journey of self-awareness and discovery.
I have dealt with a wide range of issues. These include:
- relationship breakdown
- family problems
- illness and disability
- cultural issues
- panic attacks
- feelings of sadness and depression
The counselling process
We begin with a 50 minute session where we can meet and talk about what brings you to therapy and what expectations you may have. I will gather some general information about you and if you would like to work with me, subsequent sessions will take place for 50 minutes at a given day and time each week to suit us both. Time dedicated solely to you.
Creative therapy can bring light into areas of therapy that are blocked, inhibited and stuck as well as bringing greater focus to those areas of concern. It can allow a person to discover new insight and meaning.
As well as a talking therapy, I can work creatively if you wish. This may include listening to or playing music, drawing and painting.
My fees are £40 per session payable at the beginning of each appointment by cash or cheque and I also accept online payments in advance.
Should you need to cancel an appointment, I require 24 hours’ notice.
I believe that counselling should be available to all. Therefore, I offer a concessionary rate for those on a low income or benefits. Please ask for more details of these rates.
My practice rooms are based in Thames Ditton and Surbiton both of which are served by good public transport links and have free on-street parking.
