I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor and attained a BA Hons degree from Middlesex University. Throughout my training, I attended weekly personal therapy where I was able to explore my own issues and experience what it is like to be ‘the client’.
I am a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) and I adhere to their ethical framework. For further information please see www.bacp.co.uk.
Prior to becoming a counsellor and psychotherapist, I worked as a theatre stage manager for ten years in the UK and abroad working on performances ranging from small community projects to large scale musicals. I have always enjoyed working with people from all walks of life and a career in theatre gave me great grounding for my work as a counsellor and psychotherapist.
I have worked in various settings including the NHS and for a charity which provides a specialist counselling service for people with addiction issues, their families and carers. I also volunteered as a child counsellor for the leading national children’s charity Place2be counselling primary school children through play and art therapy. I find my work with both adults and children highly rewarding.
