The Dittons Counselling

A counsellor in
Thames Ditton/Surbiton

Hello. My name is Jo; welcome to my website. It's designed with you in mind, explaining a little bit about the counselling process and the ways in which we can work together.

I am a counsellor and psychotherapist based in Thames Ditton and Surbiton and I offer short-term counselling and longer-term psychotherapy to individual clients with a range of emotional issues. There's more about my qualifications and experience on the About Me page.

Why go for talking therapy?

Throughout life there can be times when things feel difficult or overwhelming. Such feelings can manifest themselves in a number of different ways such as illness, fatigue, and a general state of feeling 'stuck'.

Counselling and psychotherapy can offer a safe space for you to explore such difficult, sometimes painful, issues that may be affecting you. An hour to talk, or to sit and 'just be' with a therapist can be hugely beneficial to one's wellbeing.

Talking therapy allows you to freely discuss the difficult challenges that you are facing in life and can deepen self-awareness and in turn find solutions to problems. It can help uncover the underlying causes of such worries which will eventually lead to change. New ways of coping can be found and balance restored to everyday life.

There's more about the kind of counselling I do — known as 'Integrative counselling' — on the Counselling page.
